When
we speak about music, what comes to our mind is something to do with
different moods of life. A perception grew in the neighborhood that
adults and learned people were the ones who always use to be
associated with music. In the earlier times music was on of the main
source for entertainment for kings and other noble men. Though over
the years trend in music changed with every era, but the main motive
of music remained the same. Today listening or learning music is not
limited to only grownups, even children can try their hand on it.
According to many parents, music is an activity which not only gives
relaxation but also adds to the personality of the toddlers. There
are many institutes and schools which have taken the initiative of
teaching music to children and is becoming a growing trend.
Few
professional schools have a strict curriculum that they develop and
follow in order to teach music to toddlers in Adelaide.
The programs are divided into three stages which are meant for
children between 2-5 years, 5-7 years and 7-9 years, also
distinguished as music matters, music express and music fundamentals.
Each of these programs are specifically designed to get the best
results from the students. The classes are interactive, multi-sensory
and engaging with a layered curriculum to help focus on each child’s
individual learning ability. Some of the objectives for the 2-5 years
programs are that students are able to confidently sight read all
music notes and complex single tone rhythms, children can play simple
three note melodies on the recorder and can understand musical terms
and meanings. The 5-7 years program allows children to play simple
three note melodies on all instruments, extend their recorder work to
cover songs played within one octave of a major scale and extend
vocal work to duets, solos and cannons and the 7-9 years program
allows understanding the make up of major scales and major cords and
extend on the musical terms covering all terms required for most
music theory exams.
